The heart of WRC Abarth - DOHC Lampredi engine 

Countless volumes can be written on the heart of WRC abarths - their engines.  Their durability and dependability, ease of service, low production cost as well as potential for hi performance sports modifications performance, was and still is unmatched. The engine was designed by automotive engineering genius Aurelio Lampredi. The Fiat DOHC engine was indeed the most ingenious though simple in is concept engine developed for mass production of daily drive Fiat cars. It was successfully installed in some 50 car models of  Fiat, Lanica. Alfa Romeo, Morgan, Polski Fiat, Polonez, Lada and Seat cars for over 33 years. It was the Kalashnikov of the engine design.  

This engine won for Fiat 11 Manufacturer's World Championship titles ( nine in rallies and two im reces).
